Thank you British Columbia! One year ago, B.C. welcomed the world to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. And we made history. In sports, Team Canada won more medals, including more golds – than at any Winter Olympics. In arts and culture, 4,000 artists engaged more than two million people in the 2010 Cultural Olympiad during 60 days that featured 600 events at 60 venues. |

A global audience of 3.5 billion people – more than half the world’s population – experienced British Columbia’s unique sense of place – our spirit of enterprise and fun – the spirit and pride of British Columbia shone brightly throughout the Games.
Now it’s time to remember – time to celebrate.
With support from the B.C. provincial government, about 50 B.C. communities are celebrating our Olympic anniversary with more than 90 festivals and events created by local artists.
